GREATER HOUSTONPOOL MANAGEMENT
Dear
GHPM Employees,
We
are so excited that you’ll be joining us for the summer of 2025. As part of the
qualification for this position, you will take part in a lifeguard training
course. If you are new to lifeguarding, or your certification has expired, the in-person
training will be three days in length. For this course, you will register for
the Lifeguard Training Course. Please be sure to look at the dates carefully
and select a class that you will be able to attend all three days. If you
already have a lifeguard certification that is expiring soon, you will need a
Lifeguard Review Course. This class is a one day in- person training.
The total cost for the entire Lifeguard
Certification is $200.00 In March and $250.00 in April and May. For those only needing the Lifeguard Review (current Lifeguard
Certification that expires this year) the cost is $75.00. If this is too
much for you to pay immediately, we do have a program to help you. You have the
option of putting $50.00 down, and then the remaining balance can be taken out
of your paycheck in small increments until it is paid off. If you are
interested in this option, you will register for the Lifeguard Payment Plan.
Lifeguard Training Course:
OPERATIONS TRAINING: Will
take place from 8:00am-9:00am on the in-person training days.
During this training, GHPM lifeguards
will learn how to test pool water, brush the pool walls, vacuum the pool,
positively interact with patrons of all ages, learn how to clean bathrooms,
fill out necessary daily paperwork, learn the basics of the pump room and how
to troubleshoot, learn how to backwash, discuss company policies and special
weather and safety situations, go over our clock in and out system, discuss our
scheduling system, and go over our in-service schedule while discussing the
importance of continued education as a lifeguard. Providing all this important
information will help make you an outstanding Greater Houston Pool Management
employee.
After the Operations Training each day, the rest of the course consists
of the pre-course skill test. Of course, you will need a swim suit. It is recommended that females
wear a one piece. It is easier to do the skills in a one piece suit. Also,
bring a towel,
sunscreen, water, LUNCH, snacks and a change of clothes. You will not be allowed to leave once
the class has started, so be sure to bring the food items you will need for the
day.
In addition, you will complete the First Aid, Blood-borne
Pathogens, and CPR portions of the Lifeguard Course and the in water rescue
portion of the class.
We are EXCITED that we
can provide you with a fun job this summer that will in turn provide you with
an income. Please reach out to us if you have any questions by texting 281-881-6272 or emailing jenniferm@greaterhoustonpool.com. Welcome to the GHPM
Team!
