FREE Pre-Course Lifeguard Swimming Test Practice
This Class is held at the: Spring Branch Natatorium (10404 Tiger Trail Houston, TX 77043) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The purpose is to prepare the student to be successful in the Lifeguarding Pre-Course Swim Test.
The test includes:
1. A 300 Swim front crawl and breaststroke ONLY. No floating, stopping on walls, holding onto the side or ropes. This MUST be continuous and with proper front crawl and/or breaststroke technique.
2. A 10 pound brick retrieval, this entails 20 yards swim, diving to about 7 feet to retrieve the brick and getting it and you back to the side and out of the water in less then one minute and forty seconds.
3. A two minute tread using legs only; hands must be out of the water or under the armpits the entire time.
IF SUCCESSFUL IT COUNTS FOR THE PRECOURSE FOR THE COURSE ITSELF.
The Lifeguard Instructor running the practice session can and will work individually with each student on their area of concern, giving them tips and teaching them proper technique to pass each part of the swim test.
It may take more than one practice session to be competent enough in the skills to pass the Pre-Course Swim Test so please feel free to sign up multiple times to ensure success. We want you to work for us but also to be competent and confident as a Lifeguard; your life and the patron you might be attempting to save lives depend on it!
